2. Learning results
1 To identify the legal problems in a situation, distinguish relevant facts from ancillary facts and introduce new perspectives in the consideration of a legal problem.
2 To know how to develop strategies, within the relations with the Administration, to safeguard the interests and rights of clients.
3 To skilfully use legal information sources.
4 To perform a critical and self-critical exercise and to show attitudes coherent with the ethical and deontological conceptions of the professional field of administrative management.
5 To communicate their conclusions and the knowledge and rationale behind them to a specialized audience in a clear and unambiguous manner.
5. Assessment system
The evaluation of the work will be carried out by a board of examiners, on the defence made by the student in the public session convened for this purpose. In it, the student must demonstrate their ability to transmit the knowledge acquired and answer the questions asked by the board. At least one board will be constituted for each of the following specialties: Constitutional Law: it will be composed of teachers from the area of Constitutional Law.
Criminal Law: will be composed of professors from the Criminal Law area.
Administrative Law: will be composed of teachers from the Administrative Law area.
Tax Law: will be made up of teachers from the area of Financial and Tax Law.
Civil Law: will be composed of teachers from the area of Civil Law.
Commercial Law: will be composed of teachers from the area of Commercial Law.
Labour Law: will be composed of teachers from the area of Labour and Social Security Law.
Each board of examiners will be composed of three members and three substitutes appointed by the Dean, at the proposal of the departments. At least two of the members of the board will be teachers of the Faculty of Law, and an administrative manager who is a teacher of the master's degree may be a member. The work submitted will be assigned to the board with which it has an affinity, based on the topics covered. If there is a large number of papers in a given specialty, more boards may be formed.
The public defence of the work is a prerequisite to pass the subject. The defence will take place at the place, date and time indicated in the summons issued by the board of examiners. The call will be published on the Faculty of Law´s website.
The defence of the master´s final project will be public. It will consist of an oral presentation by the student of the most relevant aspects of the MFP. The presentation should not exceed fifteen minutes. Once the presentation is finished, the board may ask questions to the student in order to assess the learning results.
Assessment criteria: the global computation of the grade will be the final result of these two factors:
a) Grading of the work by the director: it represents 60% of the final grade. This grade will be adjusted to the following indicators: managing of sources and bibliography (25%), ability to identify the problems present in the subject matter (25%) application of legal principles and rules, methodology appropriate to the problem posed (25%), clarity and coherence of the written exposition (25%)
b) Grading of the written work and the public defence by the board of examiners: it represents 40% of the final grade. However, in order to pass the subject it will be necessary to achieve a grade of 5 out of 10 in the defence.
The assessment will address the competencies indicated in this guide, with the following indicators: management of sources and bibliography (10%), ability to identify the problems present in the subject matter (10%), application of legal principles and rules, methodology appropriate to the problem posed (10%), clarity and coherence of written exposition (10%), clear and orderly exposition (60%), persuasiveness in the argumentation used and the tone of the exposition - Relevance of the answers given to the questions posed by the board of examiners.
